The Baja Adventure Page

On our Baja California Expedition we are planning to experience a number of the different adventures available in Baja. We are looking forward to some close encounters with the friendly whales migrating to Laguna Ojo de Liebre and Laguna San Ignacio aboard pangas piloted by local pangueros.

We will kayak along the shore and around the islands scattered throughout Bahia Concepcion. The islands of the Sea of Cortez are well known for their abundant wildlife and we look forward to seeing lots of birds and possibly dolphins and sea lions.

We will also be doing some snorkeling or scuba diving. The El Bajo seamount off of Cabo San Lucas is particularly well known for its schooling whale sharks, manta rays and hammerhead sharks!

Last, but probably one of the most exciting adventures, we will visit the spectacular rock art in the Sierra de San Francisco. This area, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993, contains some of the most spectacular rock art in the world. The caves can only be reached by a 6-hour mule ride into the road-less canyons of the Sierras accompanied by a guide. The time required will also necessitate an overnight stay in the canyon.

We are looking forward to all of these adventures and hope that you will join us along the way!  Follow us through video clips, photos and email.
